About
About How to Snowboard
A practical guide to your next day on snow, from your first lesson to looking after your board.
What this site is for
How to Snowboard helps beginners and returning riders prepare for the mountain, understand their equipment and find the next skill to practice. Guides are organized in learning order, so you can start with your stance and first slides and work towards turning, carving and beyond.
How we write our guides
- Instruction supports lessons, it does not replace them. Snowboarding is best learned on snow with a qualified instructor who can see what you are doing. Our lessons explain what to expect and what to practice; they never mean you are ready for harder terrain.
- Equipment advice points to the manufacturer. Sizes, mounting hardware, temperatures and settings vary by product, so we explain how to read the manual or size chart rather than giving one number for every board.
- We do not invent facts. We do not publish made-up statistics, prices, reviews or credentials. Where a page depends on current information, such as costs or airline rules, we explain what to check and where.
- Sources are listed. Where a guide relies on an outside source, it is linked at the end of the page.
Photos
Photographs on this site are illustrations of the mountain setting and equipment. They are not verified demonstrations of correct technique.
