How much is it to rent a snowboard at Big Bear?

Big Bear Mountain Resort showed adult snowboard packages at $45 to $69 for beginner gear, $55 to $79 for standard and $69 to $95 for demo when we checked on 23 September 2026. A helmet adds $10 at checkout. Prices vary with demand and are lower when booked in advance.

Does a snowboard rental include a helmet?

Sometimes. Loveland and Monarch include a helmet in their snowboard packages, while Big Bear charges extra for one. Always check the package description.

Is it cheaper to rent a snowboard in town than at the resort?

Often, but not always. In-town shops may charge less, especially if you pre-book; evo’s Denver store, checked 25 September 2026, listed a standard snowboard package at $56 pre-booked versus $70 walk-in. Compare the full cost, including a helmet, and remember that swapping ill-fitting boots is easier near the lifts.

Should I buy damage insurance on a snowboard rental?

It depends on what it covers and what your deposit or card already protects. Cover is often partial; evo’s Denver store, for example, sells $15 insurance that covers 50% of repair or replacement. Read the exclusions, especially for theft, before deciding.

How old do you have to be to rent a snowboard?

Each shop sets its own policy. Many require a parent or guardian to sign for renters under 18; Jiminy Peak and Mt. Baker both state this. Child-size gear is available from a young age at some resorts.

Can I rent a snowboard for the whole season?

Some shops offer season rentals, but not all do for snowboards; Monarch, for example, says snowboard seasonal rentals are not available. Ask local shops and compare the price with how many days you plan to ride.
