How do I know what size snowboard bindings to get?

Find your boot size, then look it up on the size chart for the exact binding model you want. Pick the size whose boot range includes yours. Ranges differ between brands and models, so a trial fit with your own boots is the final check.

How can I tell what size my bindings are?

Look for a size marking on the baseplate, heelcup, highback or under the footbed, then check that model’s chart on the brand’s website. If there is no marking, try your boots in them: they should sit centered and snug, with strap adjustment to spare.

How do I know if bindings will fit my snowboard?

Compare your board’s mounting pattern, such as 2x4, 4x4, 3D or The Channel, with the patterns the binding supports. Most bindings fit most boards with the right disc, but some formats only fit one system. Also check your boots won’t hang too far over the board’s edges.

What if my boot size sits between two binding sizes?

Try both sizes with your boots if you can. Otherwise ask the brand or a shop which size suits your boot model, since boots with the same size label can have different outer dimensions.

What bindings should a beginner get?

A traditional strap binding with a soft to medium flex, in the right size for your boots and compatible with your board. Burton suggests a medium-response all-mountain binding as a good starting point; very light riders may prefer something softer.

Can I use regular boots with step-in bindings?

No. Step-in bindings only work with boots made for that specific system, in the matching size. Check the system’s compatibility chart before you buy.
