Use the time on your wax. Published instructions vary: RaceWax says cooling takes 30 to 60 minutes, Toko’s manual says to scrape after about an hour, and mountainFLOW gives about 15 minutes for its hot-crayon method. Cool the board at room temperature, never outside.

Can I wax a snowboard with a clothes iron?

A purpose-made waxing iron is the safer choice because it holds a steady temperature. A household clothes iron can run hotter or less evenly and may scorch the base. If you use one anyway, keep it moving, use the lowest setting that melts the wax, and never use it for clothes again.

What temperature should the iron be?

Do I need to remove my bindings to wax?
